City council will put forward two motions relating to the Miramichi Multiplex on Thursday. One will cover a possible structure, the other a possible location. Those official details are needed to apply for government funding, although we know the basic proposal of an 1800-seat arena with a regulation ice surface, walking track, aquatics centre, gym and beyond.

Max Aitken Academy principal to become Anglophone North superintendent
The new Anglophone North superintendent is the principal of Max Aitken Academy. Mark Donovan will replace the retiring Beth Stymiest at the end of the school year. He previously spent almost two decades as Croft Elementary principal, which was one of the schools replaced by the academy.
