Former guide worried about side effects of Northwest Miramichi River closures

A longtime former guide is worried about the closure of the entire Northwest Miramichi River. John Carney told 99.3 The River previous fishing for other species hasn’t negatively affected striped bass spawning. He worries the three-week closures that happen during spawning can’t adequately be planned for, and that they’ll hurt local recreation and tourism.
