Doaktown is dealing with recent flooding that covered parts of Route 8, the water was two feet deep.
The Miramichi River was swollen from weekend rain and rose up almost level with roads and bridges.
Mayor Bev Gaston was pleased with the work of the Doaktown Volunteer Fire Department and emergency workers who dealt with the situation.
The Friends of Beaubears Island will be at Carrefour Beausoleil on Saturday to showcase the artists being featured at their Symphony at Sunset every Sunday during the summer.
Artists include Eric Hendriks, Wade Hallihan; the Heritage Players Band, Last Call; Charlie Hachey, and Joanne Lynch.
