The province is investing more than $20 million this year in energy retrofits and renewable energy initiatives in public buildings. They include lighting upgrades at schools, as well as heating and ventilation work. There will also be efficiency projects at several hospitals, among other things.

City opens option on land sought for seniors apartments
Miramichi council has opened an option agreement on land desired for seniors housing. Green Cove Co-operative wants to build a 70-unit apartment complex at MacIntosh and Water streets in Chatham. Board of Directors Chair Vernon Goodfellow told the Leader they’re hoping to have more project details by next month’s info meeting.
