A huge crowd is gathering in Ottawa mark Canada’s 150th birthday.
Officials have been preparing for months. Much of downtown Ottawa has been closed to vehicles, and security barriers have been set up around Parliament Hill.
About half-a-million people are expected and the government says it will be the biggest Canada Day celebration in the country’s history.
Lots going on for Canada Day in the Miramichi. The parade starts at 1:00pm in Newcastle, the fireworks are at 10:30pm at Waterford Green, there’s the Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival, Fishermen’s Powwow and more. See more at the Downtowns Miramichi Facebook page. The outdoor activities on Water Street did have to be cancelled due to pending weather.
