Kentville meeting

A pitch to turn the Allen’s Motel property into an affordable housing complex is receiving mixed reviews.

The Kings County branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association made a presentation to Kentville’s Council Advisory Committee regarding a proposal to turn the Allen’s Motel property on Park Street into an affordable housing project.

There will be a public meeting regarding that in the Kentville Fire Hall tomorrow, from 7 til 9 p.m.

Glooscap First Nation results

Sidney Carl Peters has been re-elected as the chief of the Glooscap First Nation, that; according to the Annapolis County Spectator.

He will be joined by two fellow incumbents and one new councillor on the band council.

Jean Louise Labradore Powers and Leonard David (Larry) Peters were re-elected, and Lynwood James (Woody) Peters will also sit on the council.
