The McNeil government has updated laws to protect young people in family services, and to ensure support to an age group previously almost without support.
Changes to the Children and Family Services Act means that support will be available for youths aged 16-18.
Conservative finance critic Tim Houston wants the auditor general to do a forensic audit on $5 million the province gave to the Lunenburg Shipyard Alliance. Houston wants to know why that payment was made despite years of delays and cost overruns on rebuilding the schooner. He says the auditor general needs to make sure it was a good use of tax dollars.
