A former Canadian Navy vessel continues to cause problems at the scrap yard where it’s being demolished. For the third time in less than a year the remains of the HMCS Protecteur caught fire at the Port Mersey Commercial Park on Friday. Kings County News reports it took two and half hours to extinguish the blaze, which is being blamed on residual fuel in the hull.

Googoo to Remain Regional Chief
Morley Googoo of Waycobah will remain regional chief of the Assembly of First Nations until 2020. The Assembly recently extended Googoo’s term at its monthly meeting.
