Gaming industry profits up

Gaming industry profits are up 2.3% in Nova Scotia.  A new government report says the Provincial Lotteries and Casino Corporation paid it $144.6 million in 2016-17, up from $141.4 million the previous fiscal year.  $6.6 million is being put into prevention, education and treatment of problem gambling.

Federal funding for festivals and events

Federal funding has been announced for festivals and events in West Nova.  A total of $104,200 is going to 10 organizations, including Festival Acadien de Clare, Association Le Moulin and the Seafest Association.  The money is in honour of Canada 150.
