NS teachers meeting

A council set up to improve classroom conditions in Nova Scotia public schools is meeting in Halifax.

The 14-member Council to Improve Classroom Conditions was established when the province imposed a four-year contract on public school teachers after they rejected three tentative agreements negotiated by their union.

It’s meeting from today through Thursday to start developing recommendations on how best to spend 20-million taxpayer’s dollars over two years to address classroom conditions — a key issue in the contract dispute.
