The search for a missing Cape Breton Kayaker is expected to resume today. 32-year-old Jason McGrath was last seen leaving Cape George, Antigonish County last Sunday. Two days later his kayak and lifejacket were found near Judique Interval, Inverness County. An extensive air-ground and sea search failed to find McGrath and was suspended Thursday night. A search will resume today with the assistance of the RCMP’s underwater recovery team.

NS Sending 21 Firefighters to BC
The Nova Scotia government is sending a crew of firefighters to British Columbia to help battles scores of wildfires in the province’s interior. A 21-person crew from Nova Scotia’s Natural Resources Department is scheduled to leave Halifax early Monday. They will be joining crews from Quebec, New Brunswick, P.E.I. and Newfoundland and Labrador. The Nova Scotia crew includes 20 firefighters and an on-site manager.
