Three provincial parks will stay open five weeks longer than usual this season. They include Blomidon in the Valley and Ellenwood Lake in Yarmouth County, which will stay open until October 9th. Mira River in Cape Breton will close October 15th.

Province announces plan for aging population
The province is committing $13.6 million over three years to SHIFT: Nova Scotia’s Action Plan for an Aging Population. Premier Stephen McNeil says it will ensure our communities benefit from the knowledge, skills and experiences of older Nova Scotians.
