Gas Station Robbed in Barrington, NS

RCMP are looking for a masked man who robbed a gas station in Barrington, NS on Saturday morning. Police say a tall man wearing a mask entered the service station on highway 3 around 6:15am and demanded cigarettes and cash. No weapon was shown and the two employees in the store were not injured during the robbery. Police say they are looking for a six foot tall white man with a slender build. The suspect was wearing a zip up sweater, a mask with a tongue sticking out the side, dark pants and rubber boots. He was also carrying two reusable Sobey’s bags.

Woman Arrested for Arson in Dartmouth Fire

A 40-year-old woman is facing arson charges following a suspicious fire in Dartmouth last night. Police and fire fighters were called to a fire at a building on Pleasant Street shortly before 6pm. No on was injured but the building suffered significant damage in the blaze and the Red Cross says three people in two apartment units have been displaced. Police say evidence at the scene indicated the fire was suspicious in nature. Police investigating the matter identified a potential suspect and took a 40-year-old woman into custody a short time later. Police say investigators have since determined the fire was deliberately set and the woman will be appearing in Dartmouth court to face arson charges at a later date.
