Bridgewater doctor trial

A former patient was the first witness at the trial of a doctor charged with writing prescriptions for 50,000 oxycodone and oxyneo pills which ended up on the streets.

68 year old retired truck driver Merle Chase told court in Bridgewater Dr. Sarah Dawn Jones wrote him a prescription for 1 or 2 oxycodone tablet every 4 to 6 hours for 30 days. He also said he got a prescription from her and only once he never paid for any of the drug Jones gave him.

New Minas drug ruling

A Dartmouth drug dealer has been sentenced in Kentville court to federal time.

32 year old Heidi Elizabeth Heise pleaded guilty in January to possession for the purpose of trafficking and violating probation.  The judge gave her two years plus a day in a federal prison.  She was arrested after incidents in New Minas in April last year.
