A Nova Scotia company has taken top honours in an international gin competition. Nova Scotia Spirit Company’s “Willing to Learn Gin” won in their category at the American Distilling Institute’s 2017 craft spirits in Baltimore. One of the drinks was the only Canadian submission to win a double gold medal.

Provincewide dispatch system introduced for GSR
A new provincewide dispatch system is out to help ground search and rescue teams. It can send requests for help to every member of a team, or several teams, at once. The $69,000 cost was shared between the provincial and federal governments, and volunteers.
