Due to insurance issues, the Wharf Rat Rally can no longer use the Digby-Annapolis Regional Airport runway. Digby Municipal Council says that the property’s insurance does not cover hosting events there, and that would be a risk to the municipality. Wharf Rat Rally executive director Laura Simmons says it was a far away location, and they’re now planning an alternative event downtown instead.

Fire Leaves 10 Homeless in Bridgewater
A family of 10 is unharmed after a blaze tore through their home in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The Canadian Red Cross says the family’s two-storey house was gutted. It says volunteers are providing the family with food, clothes and emergency lodging.
