After half a century of working in Kentville based hospital, Joanne Mailman has retired from her job as a medical laboratory technologist.
Mailman joined the staff at Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital in 1967.
As a single mom, she raised her two children; and had a reputation as one of the most reliable and dependable employees in the lab.
Kings County Mayor Peter Muttart is sure they can get a new municipal building open before staff have to move out of the old one. But council still hasn’t decided where that new one will be built.
Muttart told the CBC there are other locations in the running now in Kentville and New Minas besides the one in Coldbrook. There could also be other partners to help pay for it depending on which location is chosen.
