John Fraser is the new Liberal candidate in Pictou East. The lifelong county resident taught for 25 years before retiring in 2014. He replaces Matthew McKnight, who was booted after an offensive social media post from a few years ago came to light.

Spring weight restrictions off certain NS roads as of tomorrow
Spring weight restrictions are off paved roads in the following counties as of 12:01 tomorrow morning: Antigonish, Cumberland, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Guysborough, Inverness, Pictou, Richmond, Victoria and northern Colchester. Gravel roads will stay restricted due to heavy rain.
