A new Liberal government would expand eligibility for the Caregiver Benefit program. It would almost double the number of people who can receive help, with lower levels of dementia and mental illness qualifying rather than just severe dementia. The party would also invest $2.25 million over three years on video technology, so doctors can consult patients while the latter stay at home.

Nova Scotians saved 137 GWh of electricity in 2016. Efficiency Nova Scotia says that puts the three-year target set by the Utility and Review Board on track to be met. Energy bills were also lowered for about 1500 low-income homeowners with provincial funding, saving them up to $900 a year on heating.
