The Lorne Grabher licence plate controversy is going to the Nova Scotia Supreme Court. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is representing the Dartmouth man, saying his being denied the personalized plate is discrimination and violating Charter rights. The Registry of Motor Vehicles discontinued the plate, which is Grabher’s last name, after a complaint of it being offensive.

NS RCMP checkpoints for National Impaired Driving Day/Canada Road Safety Week
Nova Scotia RCMP will participate in Canada Road Safety Week (tomorrow until next Monday) and Saturday’s National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day. They’ll have checkpoints across the province that focus on impaired, distracted and aggressive driving; and improper seatbelt use.
