Arbitrator rules for teachers in dispute over Drake University classes

An arbitrator has ruled in favour of teachers in a training dispute.  The education department had unilaterally taken back approval for those taking correspondence courses at Iowa-based Drake University.  That was done after questions about their quality, and the teachers union says there’ll be individual remedies for nearly 500 teachers who were already taking them.

New exhibit at Fort Anne

A new exhibit was officially opened this morning at Fort Anne.  It came after the unveiling of a Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada plaque.  Fort Anne is Canada’s first national historic site, designated as a “Dominion Park” in 1917.  The fort itself dates back to 1702.
