Teachers to Restart Work-to-Rule Campaign Tomorrow

Teachers in Nova Scotia will resume their work-to-rule campaign tomorrow, after a brief pause in a months-long labour dispute with the provincial government. Teachers began their job action on December 5th, but had begun phasing it out this week after the two sides reached a tentative deal. The latest dispute arose after Premier Stephen McNeil made comments about the purpose of two extra days off included in the agreement.

Two Men Arrested in Halifax Home Invasion

Two men are in custody after a home invasion in Halifax on Saturday morning. Halifax Police say a home on Fleetview Drive was broken into shortly before 3:30am and several items were stolen. A police K9 unit was able to track the suspects to a home on Brigadier Drive and several of the stolen items were recovered. A 24 year old Middle Sackville man and a 26 year old New Brunswick man were arrested at the scene and remain in custody.
