The Utility and Review Board has reserved deciding on the case of a Dartmouth bookstore vs. the fire marshal’s office. CBC reports Doull’s Books was cited in November, and told to bring certain things up to code. One thing hasn’t been done: lowering the stacks, as most shelves go to the ceiling. Owner John Doull is appealing the amount of time he has to comply, and wants until July.

Halifax ER well over capacity recently; patients moved to private room
The recent busyness at the Halifax Infirmary’s ER has caused issues. Two patients have had to go in a private room, with the Health Authority’s Brian Butt telling CTV it’s only happened once and is a last resort. The NSGEU is concerned about employee workload and patient safety.
