Provincial, territorial ministers meeting this week

Provincial and territorial premiers are meeting in Edmonton this week.  The Council of the Federation brings all 13 together tomorrow and Wednesday.  They’re expected to discuss the economy, Canada-US relations, legalized marijuana and more.  Premiers will also talk with national indigenous leaders beforehand.

Diving Company Charged in 2015 Death of Diver in Annapolis Valley

A Hammonds Plains commercial diving company has been charged in connection with the death of one of it’s divers. Luke Seabrook was working underwater at the Nova Scotia Power Tidal Station in Annapolis Valley in July of 2015 when he got stuck in an underwater sluice gate. The 39-year-old Dartmouth man was diving to inspect the gates when he died. Paul’s Diving Services is facing four charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. If convicted the company and it’s owners face fines of up to half a million dollars and up to two years in jail.
