Two projects will get funding through a joint research competition sponsored by the Offshore Energy Research Association of Nova Scotia, Department of Energy and INNOVACORP. Open Seas Instrumentation of Musquodoboit Harbour was awarded $135,000, and JASCO Applied Sciences of Dartmouth $65,000. Both tidal power environmental monitoring projects are based in the Bay of Fundy.

Halifax doctor gets 2017 Doctors Nova Scotia Patient’s Choice Award
Dr. Geoff S. Williams, a gastroenterologist in Halifax, is the recipient of the 2017 Doctors Nova Scotia Patient’s Choice Award.
As the only physician in Nova Scotia who performs endoscopic ultrasound he sees many patients in the province who have pancreatic cancer. Dr. Williams also has a large practice dedicated to the management of common GI problems, including diagnosis and prevention of colon cancer, management of Crohn’s and Colitis, hepatobiliary diseases and other GI disorders.
