Police officers will be taking part in this year’s Cape Breton Pride parade. There’s been an issue of police in uniforms marching in Pride parades elsewhere in Canada – Including the region’s largest parade in Halifax. Pride Cape Breton co-chair Patrick MacNeil says they reached an agreement with police over their participation in the Parade after collaboration with members of the group Black Lives Matter and the L-G-B-T-Q community.
