Defence presents first witness at Sandeson murder trial

The defence called its first witness in the murder trial of William Sandeson charged with first degree murder in the disappearance of Taylor Samson.

Jordan MacEwan testified he had had drug dealings with Sandeson before and that a few days before Samson disappeared, he was the victim of a violent home invasion. MacEwan said two masked men broke into his apartment and assaulted him looking for drugs but he managed to fight back. He said he ended up at the bottom of the steps of his home…naked, bloody and screaming for help.

London attack aftermath

12 people have been released without charges after being arrested following the terrorist attack in London Saturday night. They were all arrested in the East End in the neighbourhood where the attackers lived. Police also raided out houses in a nearby neighbourhood this morning.

Three men were shot dead by police after they ran down pedestrians on London Bridge then used knives to slash people in clubs and a nearby market.

Thousands attended a public vigil for the victims yesterday where London Mayor Sadiq Khan told the crowd the city will never be broken by terrorism.
