Sidney Crosby hoisted the Stanley Cup above his head last night after the Penguins beat the Predators 2-0 in game 6…first repeat champions since 1998. Crosby also repeated as winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
On the diamonds…the Blue Jays shut down Seattle 4-0. Red Sox lost 8-3 to the Tigers. Yankees took the Orioles apart 14-3.
On the gridiron…the Stampeders beat Edmonton 36-35.
Halifax Police are investigating shooting early Saturday evening. Police were called to area of Uniacke and Brunswick streets at 5:18pm after reports of gunfire in the area. Less than ten minutes later a man in his 20’s showed up at the Halifax Infirmary suffering from gunshot wounds. Police are still trying to determine if the reported gunfire and the shooting victim are connected. Police say the injured man is expected to survive.
