Trudeau town hall

The latest stop on the prime minister’s cross country tour brought him to a packed Dartmouth Sportsplex last night.

Justin Trudeau fielded questions from a huge audience defending his policies on pipelines, saying his government is doing its best to protect jobs while also protecting the environment. He said there’ll be those who agree with what they’re going and those who don’t.

When asked whether his government would help fund replacements for aging hospitals like the Victoria General, Trudeau said it’s up to the provincial government to set priorities for infrastructure money.

Liberals slip slightly in latest poll

The federal Liberals have slipped slightly in the latest poll in Atlantic Canada…but are still very strong.

Corporate Research Associates says 73% of Atlantic Canadians surveyed are satisfied with the performance of the federal Liberals, although the number is little lower for those who would vote liberal…68% which is down from 74% three months ago. 18% chose the Conservatives…up from 16%. The NDP gained the most up 4% from 7% to 11% while the Green Party was unchanged at 3%.
