Dalhousie researcher comparing mouse/human heart scars
A Halifax researcher is hoping the tiny heart of a mouse could have big implications for humans.
Alex Quinn of Dalhousie University says he’s proven scar tissue in a mouse’s heart can maintain electrical functionality.
He says it can develop after a heart attack and is believed to block electrical signals.
Quinn says he’s curious to see if human heart scars can behave the same way.
