Woman Charged with Impaired Driving in Fatal Moncton Crash

A 34-year-old Moncton woman has been charged with impaired driving causing death following an early morning accident on Friday that killed a 66-year-old man. Melissa Amanda Lane was driving a pick-up truck that collided with a car near McLaughlin Drive and Morton Avenue in Moncton around 3am. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger in the truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Lane remains in custody and will appear in court on Monday.

Tuberculous Confirmed at Moncton School

Someone at Moncton middle school has been diagnosed with tuberculosis. Global news is reporting that a letter from the principal of Sunny Brae Middle School was sent home to parents confirming that unidentified person at the school was diagnosed with tuberculosis. It’s not known if the person affected was a student or a member of the school’s staff. An information session for parents will be held at the school on Monday at 6pm.
