Point Lepreau going off the grid

On April 7th, Point Lepreau will shut down for four to five weeks for maintenance.

That work will employ about 600 contractors and tradespeople, according to NB Power.

Last month, the nuclear tea-kettle produced about 50 per cent of the total net generation from NB Power stations.

Parlee Beach concerns

New Brunswick’s health minister, Victor Boudreau; has recused himself from any decisions regarding Parlee Beach and its fecal contamination issues last summer, after seeking the opinion of the conflict of interest commissioner.

Boudreau is one of the partners in the proposed 700 site campground development in nearby Shediac on an oceanfront property.

Boudreau’s stake in the campground is in a blind trust.
