A provincial-committee meeting on legalized marijuana was held this week in Atholville. It’s one of eight around the province, which covers the report on how it should be handled here and takes input. Most who presented at Alma Hall were in favour of legalization and the Zenabis plant. The report suggests selling marijuana at liquor stores and the legal age being 19, among other things.

Premier gets no assurances, but still optimistic about softwood lumber duty exemption
Brian Gallant says he didn’t get any assurances, but remains optimistic that New Brunswick can be exempt from softwood lumber duties. He met with US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross yesterday in Washington. The premier says Ross listened carefully, and negotiations between the two federal governments will continue.
