Campbellton Sports Leader Charged with Sex Crimes Involving Minor

A well known community sports leader in Campbellton appeared in court this week to face four sex-related charges involving a minor. 66-year-old Donat Paulin of Gallant Drive was in court on March 20th but the Tribune reports that the matter has been set over until April 24th for election and plea. Paulin, a member of the Campbellton Sports Hall of fame recognized for his 4 decades of work with minor soccer, is charged with invitation to sexual touching, luring, exposure and making sexually explicit material available to a child under the age of 16.

Fredericton Police Wearing Body Cameras

Police in Fredericton are launching a 90-day pilot project that will some of it’s officers wear body mounted video cameras. Six officers in the force’s Traffic Safety Section and Primary Response team will be equipped with the camera’s for the next three months. Officers will use their own discretion as to when it’s appropriate to record with the devices and say they will notify members of the public when they are being recorded. The footage will be gathered until the end of June when the Fredericton police will evaluate the benefits.
