Haut-Madawaska will officially be incorporated July 1st. Back in November residents of Saint-François, Clair, Baker Brook, Saint-Hilaire, Lac Baker and Madawaska local service districts voted to amalgamate with the villages of Saint-Hilaire, Baker-Brook, Clair and Saint-Francois-de-Madawaska. The new community’s first council will be elected on May 15th.

New legislation to allow public bodies to store data at NB Institute for Research, Data and Training
Legislation is being introduced to let public bodies store prepared data at the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training in Fredericton. The intention is to facilitate data research, which will help provide better program delivery in everything from healthcare to poverty reduction to traffic safety. Researchers will be able to find new patterns and connections.
