Minimum Wage Up in NB

Minimum wage in New Brunswick is now officially 11-dollars-an-hour. As of yesterday the minimum wage rose to from 10-dollars and 65 cents to 11-dollars. It’s the third increase since 2014. Starting in 2018 the province intends to tie minimum wages to increases in inflation. The minimum wage in PEI also increased on Saturday to 11.25 an hour while the minimum age in Nova Scotia was hiked to 10.85.

Celtic Heritage Week in NB

Starting today New Brunswick is celebrating it’s Celtic roots. The provincial government has declared April 2nd to April 8th Celtic Heritage Week. A government news release says roughly 42 percent of all people in the province can trace their linage to Celtic origins. Celtic heritage Week also incorporates a more recognized global event, Tartan Day, on April 6th.
