N-B Power has begun testing to explore the possibility of building a second generating station in Grand Falls. It says it has begun field studies as well as discussions with First Nations and area residents about a new 100-megawatt generating station beside the existing station.

National Immunization Week Underway
National Immunization Week runs through next Saturday. Two new publicly funded vaccines will be available in New Brunswick this year: one against Rotavirus in June, the other against HPV in September. The latter is already given to Grade 7 girls, but now boys will get it too and a better vaccine will replace the current one.
