Coloured Rock Game Arrives in Sussex

A community based game that’s spread around the world has come to Sussex. The game involves hiding painted rocks and then posting clues of there whereabouts online. In little over a month, the Sussex NB Rocks Facebook group has grown to 170 members. Colourfully painted rocks are being hidden and found all over town – much to the delight of both kids and adults. Once a rock is found, it’s discoverer is expected to hide it again somewhere else and post new clues pointing to its whereabouts.

Decision Coming Soon on Old Moncton High School Heritage Building

A decision on the future of the old Moncton High School building is expected soon. Moncton area MLA’s and Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser toured the building on Friday. The Gothic style heritage building was built in 1935. The province has been paying upwards of 250-thousand-dollars a year to maintain the vacant structure. Two proposals before the City of Moncton have called for the building to be converted into a cultural centre or an RCMP detachment. However, no one from the City of Moncton took part in Friday’s walk about of the property and there is no guarantee the province will choose either of the two proposals presented to the city.
