The Canadian Red Cross says four people were displaced by a fire yesterday in their wood-frame house in Hartland, New Brunswick. Disaster volunteers from the Canadian Red Cross have arranged emergency lodging plus food and clothing purchases for a couple and two adult children in their 20s. The relief agency says there were no injuries from the mid-morning fire at 39 Hillcrest Avenue.

Province and Ottawa to Study Ticks in NB
The provincial and federal governments are partnering to enhance field surveillance and tick collection over two years. The geographic range of blacklegged ticks, which can transmit Lyme disease, has been expanding, so they’ll look at where. Grand Manan, Grand Bay-Westfield, Saint John, Rothesay, Quispamsis, St. Stephen, Saint Andrews and St. George are among targeted areas.
