Syrian Refugee’s Chocolate Factory in NS Overwhelmed with Demand
A Nova Scotia chocolate maker is having trouble keeping up with demand after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told his their family’s story in an address to the United Nations. The Hadad family, refugees from Syria who settled in Antigonish, say they are turning customers away. The family had run a chocolate factory in Syria that was destroyed in a missile attack but opened a small factory in Antigonish shortly after arriving in Canada. The family has now started a gofundme campaign to try and raise money to expand their small factory and hire new employees.
