Oxford’s new budget has a drop in commercial taxes. The rate is down to $3.97 per $100 of assessment, while the residential rate stays at $1.59 in the $2.4 million budget. A$861,887 capital budget was also passed by the town.

Graduate to Opportunity program getting larger first-year subsidy for diverse hires
The province’s Graduate to Opportunity program is being enhanced to encourage more businesses to hire women, people with disabilities and beyond. Employers will get another 10% subsidy in the first year for diverse and international hires, on top of the usual 25%. The program encourages the hiring of recent grads.
