A ruckus by inmates has led to a lock-down at the medium-security prison in Springhill.
Shannon Oickle, the assistant warden at the Springhill Institution; says that was enacted just before 1 yesterday afternoon.
Staff at the men’s prison were trying to settle them down, but as of last night; a number of inmates continued to refuse to go back to their cells.
One inmate was hurt and taken to an outside hospital.
