This week is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, dedicated to 911 operators. Nova Scotia RCMP telecommunicators answer 667 calls a day on average, with over two thirds being for ambulance, police and fire service. 243,713 calls were taken in 2016.

Memramcook appoints interim CAOs as permanent
Memramcook has taken the “interim” CAO tag off Monique Bourque and Caroline LeBlanc. They’ve been filling in since October, but are both now permanent village CAOs.
