Springhill music event

The Maritime Music Fest will be in Springhill next Thursday through Saturday at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Centre.

Featured performers include Catherine MacLellan, Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys; and Chris Brown of Springhill.

In addition, Anne Murray will be at the Anne Murray Centre on July 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. for a meet and greet.

That event is free and everyone is welcome.

Impaired boating warning

The Lunenburg RCMP are reminding you about boating rules after a weekend patrol.  They checked about 20 boats between Chester and Mahone Bay on Sunday, issuing six warnings for Liquor Control Act violations.  Others didn’t have a valid licence, or not enough lifejackets.  A Tancook Island man was arrested for impaired boating, and is due in court in September.
