The province is moving ahead with plans for a new hospital in Pugwash. It’ll work with Health Authority to have a final design in place by spring 2018, with construction expected to start by that fall. The North Cumberland Memorial Hospital was built in 1966.

Breach sentence
A Parrsboro man has been sentenced for breaching a recognizance. 32-year-old Patrick Ronald Brown got a 90-day conditional sentence and $100 fine after pleading guilty to the June 2016 incident.
