Free naloxone kits are set to be publicly available as of September 1st. They’ll be at 300 community pharmacies across Nova Scotia, with Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang saying the province is still studying whether other measures to curb opioid deaths will be brought in. Fatality numbers will also be posted online, and first responders will share more information with each other.

NS taxpayer’s forking out more
Provincial taxpayer’s are footing the bill as the McNeil government is buying 10 more P3 schools. Yesterday’s announcements brings the total bought to 37 of 39, with two being given back to developers. Auditor general Michael Pickup had blasted the government’s handling of the schools’ future in his report last fall.
