Fisherman Rescued in Kings County

A fisherman was rescued from Halfway River on Friday night, near where another missing fisherman died the week before. Hantsport Deputy Fire chief tells Kings County News they were called for assistance shortly after 9pm when the middle aged man failed to show up to meet family at a designated spot. The fisherman reportedly fell from a canoe and swam to shore. The Kings County News reports that the man was wet and hypothermic when he was found about an hour later. Rescuers hauled the man from the river bank in a basket and he was transported to hospital for treatment.

NS Tories Launch Campaign

Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservative PArty launched their campaign on Saturday – ahead of any official election call. The tories launched their campaign at an event held at the NSCC Akerley Campus in Dartmouth. PC Leader Jamie Baillie pitched his party to the crowd while criticizing the McNeil Government’s lack of leadership. Many expect an official election call from Liberal government will be announced later today.
