A Parrsboro man has been sentenced for helping someone escape police custody. 21-year-old Quinn Donald Colburne got a year’s probation and 50 hours’ community service after pleading guilty. The incident happened in November.

Police warn of “quick change” scam
Amherst Police are warning of a “quick change” scam. Two people apparently tried to scam cashiers at a South Albion Street grocery store this past Friday. They paid for small-priced items with a large denomination bill, and tried a bunch of exchanges to provide confusion and get more money than just the change.
