Marilyn Maddison of the Springhill area recently got an Honourary Patron plaque from the Kidney Foundation of Canada Atlantic Branch.

She got the nod for her work regarding fundraising to cover the costs of dialysis for the past 26 years.

In late July, a Maritime Music Fest is coming to Springhill to honour Anne Murray’s legacy at the centre named after her.

Full details of the four day festival will be announced later this month.
