Student voting

More than 15,000 Nova Scotian elementary and high school students will vote on Monday for the election.  The Student Vote program lets them cast ballots, with 186 schools taking part in all but one electoral district.

NS election trail

Healthcare is the current election focus for the PCs and NDPs.  Tory Leader Jamie Baillie says ER closures, doctor shortages and a lack of mental health services have become a crisis, while New Democrat Gary Burrill agrees and says there can be improvements with proper funding, setting priorities and working with professionals.  Liberal Premier Stephen McNeil says while there are challenges, short-term fixes won’t solve them.
